What is it?

DC Tech (short for DOOMclone Tech) is a modified version of one of the DOOMclone engines made to better suit beginners to FPS creation with Game Maker. Many of these beginners use the FPS tutorial created by Mark Overmars to create an FPS game, as I did when I created DOOMclone. But, many of these beginners don't put very much effort into creating the FPS. So, what we get is about 10 tutorial edits a day offering nothing really new compared to the tutorial. That's were DC Tech comes in! Many of the things that beginners want for there FPS game, but don't know how to do, are included in DC Tech. And, since at its deepest roots it's based on the tutorial, its just as easy to use!

DC Tech Three Mark II

Based in its deepest roots upon the FPS Tutorial, DC Tech Three Mark II gives beginners the ease of the old engine while providing many valuable new features.

Such features include:
-Lighting
-Ammo
-Menu
-Multiple guns (including rocket launcher and chainsaw!)
-Guns can be picked up as game progresses
-Horizontal Mouselook
-Jumping and crouching
-Enemies that fire projectiles

NOTE: You must comply with the rules stated in the game info!

Known Bug: In the room start event for obj_jumpto, the x and y settings should be obj_jumpto.x and obj_jumpto.y.

DC Tech Two

This Engine is a modified version of the DOOMclone II engine. It has been created to encourage beginners to use this rather than the FPS example to create better games than just a simple tutorial edit. And, since its built off of the FPS tutorial, its just as easy to use!

NOTE: You must comply with the rules stated in the game info!

DC Tech One (Now Discontinued)

[Discontinued - No Longer Supported]

This Engine is a modified version of the DOOMclone Platinum Edition v2.2 engine. It has been created to encourage beginners to use this rather than the FPS example to create better games than just a simple tutorial edit. And, since its built off of the FPS tutorial, its just as easy to use!

NOTE: You must comply with the terms of use written in the game info!

I have recently learned of a bug: If you create a new level and are not using lights, you must change the true in the last line of code for the object drawfloorceiling's draw code to false. Or else lighting will still be enabled causing walls and monsters to be completely black.
